Registration

Registration is required for the seminar, there are only limited places available. Information on registration will be made available shortly before the beginning of each semester in the announcement section (News) of our website.

Target group

The seminar is aimed at students in the Master's program. The treatment of the topics presupposes basic knowledge in the area of telematics (e.g. lectures introduction in computer networks, telematics, ...). Also experience in scientific writing and presentation, e.g. by proseminar, bachelor thesis, etc.. As well as the independent handling of literature. Participation of students in the Bachelor should be clarified in each individual case.

The seminar (elaboration and presentation) will be held in English.

Examination

The assessment of success is carried out through the preparation of a written seminar paper and the presentation of the same as an assessment of success of a different kind according to § 4 para. 2 no. 3 SPO.

The seminar grade corresponds to the grade of the written paper, but can be lowered or raised by up to two grade levels by the presentation.


Description

The seminar deals with specific topics, some of which have been addressed in the corresponding lectures, and explores them in greater depth. For example, the main topics Future Internet, Security and Internet Performance will be covered. In these topics, the main focus is on highly distributed systems (peer-to-peer networks, cloud, future mobile networks), the complexity of which should be manageable through automation using machine learning, among other things.
