Dr. Heep received his Diplom-Informatiker degree (comparable to M.Sc. in computer science) in 2005 from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. Since February 2006, he was working at the Institute of Telematics at the KIT where he received his Ph.D. in October 2011. In his doctoral thesis he discussed different methods for achieving efficient routing in structured P2P systems. After that, he continued to work as postdoc at the Institute of Telematics until March 2013. His research interests lay in the area of P2P and overlay systems as well as network simulation. Lastly, he worked on decentralized communication systems for smart traffic and electric mobility.
