Dr. Heep received his Diplom-Informatiker degree (comparable to M.Sc. in computer science) in 2005 from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. Since February 2006, he has been working at the Instute of Telematics at the KIT where he received his Ph.D. in October 2011. In his doctoral thesis he discussed different methods for achieving efficient routing in structured P2P systems. Currently, he is working as postdoc at the Institute of Telematics. His research interests still lie in the area of P2P and overlay systems as well as network simulation. Additionally, he is working on decentralized communication systems for smart traffic and electromobility.
Current work:
- Overlay communication architectures for smart traffic applications (iZEUS)
- Simulation of P2P and overlay networks (OverSim)
- Efficient routing and topology adaptation in structured P2P overlays
- Network coordinate systems
- Mobile communications
Awards:
