Place and time

The lecture is scheduled to take place every week on Wednesday and Thursday from 09:45 - 11:15 in the Hertz lecture hall in building 10.11 during the winter semester.


Contents of the lecture Einführung in Rechnernetze [24519] or comparable lectures are required.


The lecture deals with protocols, architectures, procedures and algorithms that are used in the Internet for routing and for establishing a reliable end-to-end connection. In addition to various media allocation procedures in local area networks, other communication systems such as circuit-switched ISDN are also covered. Participants should also have an understanding of the options available for managing and administering networks.
